Hyukjin An — Software & Security Engineer, and a founder, based in South Korea. Most places online I go by SQZER, because I like squeezing a thing down until it breaks and shows me what it was made of. Squeezer is fine too.
I like having a hand in the whole lifecycle of a service, from the hardware and the systems underneath it through DevSecOps and on to planning and writing the thing. That has taken me through enterprise infrastructure, SysOps, full-stack development and security engineering; these days I work as a software engineer inside the security domain. I started out as a developer, so my languages are C++, Rust and Python, and I spend a lot of my open-source time building the tools security testing actually needs and contributing to other people’s. Right now most of my attention goes to OPSEC and zero trust.
The rest of my time goes to running my own things. As a solo founder that means reviewing the services I already have, launching new ones, and doing every other job myself — finding the business model, handling the legal side, working out how anyone is supposed to hear about it.
Hardware is part of the fun. My first homelab ran on a Dell PowerEdge R650; now it is a Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Tower under Proxmox. Day to day I work on a ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition running Arch Linux, in Ghostty and NeoVIM, with Codex CLI and Claude Code alongside.
